“In the end, if you’re asked why, will you reply because I wasn’t given a church?” asked Rick Hocker. Rick is a friend and I’ve known him over 10 years. This question ran through me rapidly. I’m sure Rick was about ready to snag my heart as it fell from my chest. I knew at that moment what I needed to do even if it took my entire life. After lunch that day I called another friend and asked if he was ready to go after the dream. Then I broke the news to JaNonda. Sure there were obstacles. There still are obstacles. What dream or vision is without obstacles?I've recently read posts and heard people discussing their efforts in searching for a church or ministry that can support their vision for reaching the un-churched. The person’s idea or ministry philosophy sounds good but most of the time it’s prefaced or followed by “I wish I could…”
Wish you could what?
Find the time?
Find the money?
Find the right group?
Find a place that can be there for your self-worth?
How about find the faith in God to start what you’re talking about.
I can't wait for a church or a church leader to take me by the hand and show me how to follow my vision. If so it wouldn’t be my vision it would be theirs. Which is what some have a hard time realizing. Should we work our dream or throw it out and see if someone else will work it? Work your own dream! Hopefully, New Faith understands that if they have a dream they can work it and live it one piece at a time.
If you’re waiting until you get a big break you might be waiting a long time. You can do anything you want for God when the hearts motive is to bring Him glory not yourself. You don’t have to wait for a church or church leader to fund you or give you the nod to move on it. If you feel passionate enough about doing something for God nothing should stop you. Do a little at a time.
Listen to the advice of wise leaders.
If I didn’t listen to Rick and Diana that day I may be sitting in a chair right now looking for a church to support a dream. Instead, I joined with a bunch of hungry leaders and we are living a dream together. We leaped with faith and nothing has stopped us from dreaming bigger. Living this dream has been a roller-coaster but full of great adventure!
Stop looking for a church to give you the ok. You’re putting more faith in the church than God.
The same goes for anything in life. Whatever you do, do it for the glory of God and it will be a success!
Question: “In the end, if you’re asked why, will you reply because I wasn’t given _____
Will a blank be adequate?

I remember you telling us on a Thursday night not too long ago that we have to work our vision every day if we expect things to happen. This is so true. Nothing worth having was ever just given away. -Janice
