Day 5 - The Storm

There is a storm outside. It’s been all day. It’s a day that includes rain, wind, water (lots), cool temperatures, traffic, accidents and no sunshine. Though it’s ugly, I enjoy these days. I don’t get too many. Days like this cause me to stay inside. I want to curl up under a blanket, keep all the lights off and just listen. Listen to nature taking care of itself. Listen to the wind as it sings. If I’m not careful, I’ll become lazy and waste this day. Therefore, I’ll just let my mind wonder and dream while sitting with a dark overcast. Today I hear the noise of the rain as it rushes the vinyl sides of my home. As a boy, I had the pleasure of hearing the rain pound the metal roof of our Kentucky home. I wonder if God created this day for me. If so, what does he want to show or tell me? Perhaps it’s a visual. So you think we can still get enjoyment in life’s storms if we're willing to relax and focus.

You who sit down in the High God's presence, spend the night in Shaddai's shadow, Say this: "God, you're my refuge, I trust in you and I'm safe!" –Moses
